We have made a slight change to our prescription form. The form is very similar to the existing form and self explanatory but you will need to delete any bookmarks you have to the existing form as it will no longer be available. Any details you have saved will however be lost.

Repeat Prescriptions

PLEASE ALLOW 4 WORKING DAYS BEFORE YOU COLLECT YOUR PRESCRIPTION FROM SURGERY.

The majority of repeat prescriptions are issued via our computer. You can order repeat prescriptions online via the link at the top of this page or on patient online access if 16 and over.

If you wish to order medicines by hand, please complete the tear off slip on the previous prescription and return it to the surgery. Alternatively please write all your details clearly on a sheet of paper (name, date of birth, name of item, strength, dosage and the local chemist of your choice).

Please order your repeat medication in plenty of time.  If you have only 5-7 days worth of medication left you need to put your repeat medication request in to the surgery to ensure your request is reviewed and actioned.

The 2 pharmacies in Peel and the pharmacy in Kirk Michael all operate a system whereby they collect prescriptions from the surgery and the patient can then collect their items later in the day directly from the pharmacy.  On occasions your prescription may not be ready to collect from the pharmacy until the following day or it may take longer as they may need to order the medication.

We regret that we are unable to accept requests for prescriptions over the telephone. This is to avoid mistakes and to guard against the telephone lines from becoming too busy and preventing any emergency telephone calls from getting through.

Urgent /Late requested medication – Urgent/Late requests put unnecessary pressure on the doctors and staff at the surgery.  The doctor will always review a late / urgent requests for medication, but if they feel that the medication is not required urgently you may have to wait the required time for your prescription.

Please ring the surgery after 4.00pm to check the status on your urgent/late request, please note that the doctor may feel that the medication is not required urgently and that you have to wait the required time , urgent / late prescriptions need to be collected from the surgery.

Please request your medication in plenty of time, put a note on your calendar the week before or set an alarm on your mobile telephone. Thank you.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, advanced nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
