Peel Group Practice, Isle of Man

 Looking to change your lifestyle?

Want the best of General Practice ?

An opportunity has arisen to join our team in this beautiful seaside town on the west coast of the Isle of Man.

We are a training practice with just over 9111 patients. We work from smart purpose-built premises and we have recently opened a new extension to accommodate our growing team. We have excellent clerical staff, a community health team on site, and the working environment is friendly and supportive.

We perform well on our key performance indicators. Our workload is varied. We offer minor surgery, IUD and coil insertion and GPwER dermatology clinics. There are no extended hours in GP surgeries on the Isle of Man and no requirement to be involved in out of hours care, although out-of-hours shifts are available at the emergency doctors service.

The Isle of Man is a beautiful self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea. The health service is modelled on the NHS but independent from British government control. There are excellent air and ferry links to the United Kingdom and Ireland. We have top class state and private schools and plenty of facilities for sports and outdoor recreation.

The island has a small community of GPs who know each other well, with a growing educational structure, protected learning time and a robust appraisal system, making for minimal revalidation stress. We have a good relationship with clinicians at the local hospital.

We would welcome a candidate who is keen to play a part in developing our service. Remuneration is similar to the UK but with a more favourable cap on income tax. An interest in training would be an advantage but not mandatory.

We can offer a part time or full time post, sessions negotiable.

Informal enquiries welcome.  For further details, please contact Dr Helen Teare or Janece Pugh (Practice Manager) on +44 1624 686968.

Please email a current CV and the names of 2 referees to: janece.pugh@gov.im or post to Janece Pugh, Practice Manager, Peel Group Practice, Albany Road, Peel, Isle of Man, IM5 1HU

The closing date for applications is 28th February 2023. Start date negotiable – we are willing to wait for the right candidate.
